Icelandic scallop Chlamys islandica. When different animals exhibit a common pattern of abnormal closings (or openings), it means there is a common external stress (that can be pollution). Otherwise, each individual in the group, except for biological rhythms, lives its life independent from one another.

Tromsoe, Norwegian Arctic. What we are studying here is the behavior of icelandic scallops (Chlamys islandica). The records are originating from the fjord of Tromsoe, far in the north of Norway, in Arctica, at about 2 200 km from the North Pole. This site was launched on 31 march 2011 and has been working for about a year.
