A propos du site

Oysters Crassostrea gigas. When different animals exhibit a common pattern of abnormal closings (or openings), it means there is a common external stress (that can be pollution). Otherwise, each individual in the group, except for biological rhythms, lives its life independent from one another.

Available records from March 2011 to September 2012

time GMT.

Oysters, Crassostrea gigas. The site is stopped since late September 2012. It was set up in March 2011. It is located in the intertidal zone which means that at low tide the whole set up is out of water and immersed at high tide. Thus it has been running for 19 months without human intervention which is really nice. It only stops working once when the electricity supply was stopped during heavy work in the local port. It has been destroyed following the storm that hit Brittany on the 23-24 September 2012 (wind speed, 125 km/h). For experimental purposes, it was located on an oyster farmer table which rolled over because of the wave action.
